Travellon is an independent travel resource built by travellers, for travellers. We create detailed destination guides, practical tips, and honest recommendations to help you plan better trips – whether you’re booking your first overseas holiday or your fiftieth.
We focus on what actually matters when you’re planning a trip: what to see, how to get around, what things cost, and the practical details that guidebooks often skip. No fluff, no sponsored content disguised as advice – just straightforward information from people who’ve been there.
What We Cover
Destination Guides
Our destination guides cover cities and countries across every continent. Each guide includes:
- Attractions and sights – What’s worth visiting, with honest assessments of whether places live up to the hype
- Neighbourhoods – Understanding different areas so you can choose where to stay
- Transport – How to get around, from airports to local buses
- Costs – Real prices for accommodation, food, transport, and activities
- Practical tips – Local customs, tipping, safety, weather, and what to pack
We cover major destinations like London, Paris, Tokyo, and Barcelona, as well as less-visited places across South America, Asia, and beyond.
Travel Essentials
Beyond destinations, we cover the practical side of travel:
Luggage and packing – Cabin bag sizes, airline baggage allowances, and luggage recommendations
Power and adapters – Which plug type you need for different countries, voltage differences, and recommended travel adapters
Budgeting – How to budget for trips, realistic cost breakdowns, and money-saving strategies
Travel hacks – Practical tips for booking flights, finding deals, and travelling smarter
Our Approach
We visit the places we write about
Our guides are based on firsthand experience. When we recommend a museum or warn about a tourist trap, it’s because we’ve been there ourselves. We don’t rewrite Wikipedia or regurgitate press releases.
We update our content
Travel information goes stale quickly. Prices change, attractions close, new transport links open. We regularly revisit and update our guides to keep them accurate. Check the date at the top of each article to see when it was last updated.
We’re honest about the downsides
Every destination has drawbacks. We mention when places are overcrowded, overpriced, or overhyped. If you can skip a popular attraction without missing much, we’ll tell you. If a neighbourhood isn’t safe at night, we’ll mention it.
We keep it practical
We focus on information you can actually use. Opening times, ticket prices, how to get from A to B. Theory is interesting but it doesn’t help you catch the right train.
We don’t do paid placements
When we recommend a hotel, restaurant, or product, it’s because we think it’s genuinely good – not because someone paid us to say so. We use affiliate links where relevant (they help keep the site running), but they don’t influence our recommendations.

Travellon is written by experienced travellers based in the UK. We’ve collectively visited over 70 countries and take regular trips to update our guides and explore new destinations.
How do you make money?
We use affiliate links for some products and booking services. When you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps cover hosting and running costs. Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial recommendations.
How often is content updated?
We aim to review and update guides at least annually, more frequently for popular destinations or when significant changes occur. Each article shows when it was last modified.
Can I suggest a destination?
Absolutely. We’re always looking for new places to cover. Get in touch with your suggestions.
Do you accept guest posts?
We occasionally accept guest contributions from experienced travellers, but we’re selective. Content must be original, well-written, and based on genuine firsthand experience. No paid posts or sponsored content.
