BUYUE Travel Pillow: Inflatable Neck Support

I tried the BUYUE pillow on a red-eye from London to Singapore after reading about its 360-degree support design. The included eye mask and earplugs were a nice bonus – I usually forget to pack those separately. The pillow kept my head from nodding forward, which is my main problem with traditional U-shaped designs. At around £23, it sits in the middle of the market between cheap foam options and the premium Trtl and Cabeau pillows.

Product overview

The BUYUE pillow uses a “triple support system” design that wraps around your head, neck, and chin to stop it falling forward. This is the same problem the Trtl solves with its internal plastic frame, but the BUYUE takes a softer, cushioned approach.

Available in two sizes: Adult (neck sizes 13″ and above) and Small (up to 13″, for lighter users). The cover is micro-velvet with PP cotton filling. A snap strap clips it to your bag, and there’s a small pocket for the included eye mask and earplugs.

Comfort on long flights

In practice, the 360-degree design works well for upright sleepers. The soft micro-velvet cover is comfortable against the neck, and the pillow is warm without being oppressively so. Side sleepers may find it less versatile than a traditional U-shape since it is designed primarily to stop forward head drop rather than provide lateral support.

Materials

Cover: micro-velvet. Filling: PP (polypropylene) cotton. The micro-velvet is noticeably soft and does not feel scratchy against bare skin. PP cotton is firmer than memory foam but lighter, which keeps the pillow from being too bulky. Machine washable.

Included accessories

The kit includes a 3D contoured eye mask, earplugs, and a storage bag. The eye mask is shaped to avoid pressing directly on your eyes, which I find more comfortable than flat masks. The earplugs are basic foam — not premium noise-cancelling, but adequate for reducing cabin noise. Having all three in one package is a genuine convenience.

Alternatives and price comparison

Here’s how it compares to other pillows at similar or higher price points:

Brand Material Features Included Accessories Price (USD)
napfun Memory Foam 100% pure memory foam, portable, lightweight None $15.86
SAIREIDER Memory Foam 100% pure memory foam, washable cover None $9.99
trtl Travel Pillow Fleece Neck and shoulder support, super-soft, lightweight, machine-washable None $45.04
MLVOC Travel Pillow Memory Foam 100% pure memory foam, breathable cover, machine washable Eye mask, earplugs, luxury bag $23.99
Cabeau Evolution S3 Memory Foam Memory foam, adjustable clasp, seat strap attachment Carrying case $39.99
Ostrichpillow Go Memory Foam Premium memory foam, 360º ergonomic design, washable cover Travel bag $66.80

The BUYUE Adult size costs around $23/£23. It undercuts the Trtl and Cabeau on price while including accessories that most rivals charge extra for or omit entirely.

Verdict

The BUYUE is a solid budget option. The 360-degree support design tackles the forward head drop problem that makes standard U-pillows useless, and the included eye mask and earplugs add real value. It is not as compact as the Trtl and not as premium as the Cabeau, but at £23 with accessories included, it is good value for occasional long-haul travellers.
